Koehler Instrument K11459 – Reid Vapour Pressure Bath, 4-Unit

Vapour pressure directly affects the handling and performance of liquid petroleum and LPG products. Consequently, regulators strictly control automotive gasoline vapour pressure to reduce emissions.

To ensure compliance, manufacturers use constant-temperature water baths to determine Reid Vapour Pressure. In operation, the bath immerses the vapour pressure apparatus at ASTM-specified depths.

Features and Benefits

First, the system complies with ASTM D323, D1267, and related standards. In addition, users may install the unit as either free-standing or flush-mounted.

At the core of the system, a programmable microprocessor delivers high-accuracy temperature control. Specifically, the bath maintains temperature within ±0.2 °F precision.

Moreover, PID control rapidly stabilises temperature without overshoot. For added safety, an overtemperature circuit automatically cuts power if limits are exceeded.

Meanwhile, dual LED displays clearly indicate actual and setpoint temperatures in °C or °F. Optionally, RS232 communication and ramp-to-set capability further enhance functionality.

Structurally, the bath features double-wall construction with fibreglass-insulated stainless steel. Additionally, a 1-inch flange supports flush-mount benchtop installation.

Internally, built-in holders suspend test cylinders at the required immersion depth. Finally, an integrated overflow standpipe and drain maintain the proper bath level.
