pH electrodes are analytical sensors. They are used to measure the potential of hydrogen (pH). They also find the negative logarithm of the hydrogen ion activity, in a solution. The technology behind pH electrodes has not changed much in the past half-century or so, yet pH electrode manufacturing remains an art.
