Thermo-Acoustic Imaging

Thermo-acoustic imaging combines microwave contrast with ultrasound resolution, using pulsed microwaves to generate ultrasound waves in tissue. Absorbed microwave energy converts to heat, triggers rapid thermal expansion, and produces ultrasound waves. An ultrasound transducer detects these waves and reconstructs them into images. TA imaging penetrates deeply and visualises structural and functional information from tissue differences in microwave absorption.
