Water Level Sounders

A water level sounder is a handheld, battery-operated device that measures the depth to water in wells and boreholes using a graduated, non-stretch tape and an electrical probe. As the probe is lowered into a well, it detects the water surface by completing an electrical circuit. This triggers an audible beep and/or a visual signal (like an LED) from the device’s reel. The depth is then read directly from the markings on the tape. The sounder provides accurate measurements for groundwater monitoring, pump tests, and environmental studies.
