During the experiment, the sample is sealed within a liquid cell covered by an ultra-thin silicon nitride film. This film can withstand one atmosphere of pressure. Additionally, the chip electrodes are connected to an external circuit. Thus, a liquid-electrochemical testing environment is created inside the SEM.
