Koehler Instrument K10992 – Solid Block Oxidation Bath
The constant-temperature oil bath holds pressure vessels at the correct depth for grease oxidation stability testing. Microprocessor PID control stabilises temperature quickly without overshoot. An overtemperature circuit interrupts power if the bath exceeds the programmed limit.
Dual LED displays show actual and setpoint temperatures in °C or °F. Optional features include RS232 communications, ramp-to-set control, and advanced functions. The insulated stainless steel bath includes a vessel rack and overflow drain. A corrosion-resistant polyurethane enamel finish protects the steel exterior.

The stainless steel pressure vessel includes a body, lid, stem, needle valve, and dish holder. All internal surfaces feature a high polish for easy cleaning.
The vessel safely withstands 180 psi at 99 °C. The assembly includes three PTFE gasket seals and cap screws with a wrench. Optional PTFE-fluorocarbon seals are also available.
Users may select mechanical gauges or the Oxidata® Pressure Management System. The pressure gauge measures vessel pressure with better than 0.5 psi accuracy. The gauge meets ASTM specifications and supports oxygen service. Its range spans 0–160 psi, with 1 psi graduations.
The Oxidata® system provides electronic pressure measurement using Windows®-based software. It records pressure versus time with better than 0.5 psi accuracy.
The system supports four channels across a 0–200 psi range. Graphical and tabular formats present the recorded data. An RTD attachment measures and reports bath temperature.
The system includes transducers, data acquisition hardware, software, probes, and cables.
The sample is oxidised in a pressure vessel initially charged with oxygen at 110psi (758kPa) and maintained at elevated temperature for a specified ageing period. The pressure drop inside the pressure vessel is measured by means of a gauge or transducer.
