BIO V1 is a highly versatile and modular 3D bioprinter, designed to support a broad range of biofabrication applications. With an interchangeable print head system and an intuitive workflow, it adapts seamlessly to different research needs
Key Features:
Each application requires specific solutions. A modular system has been developed to create equipment that adapts to the requirements of each investigation.
Our head system enables the inclusion of different syringe modules and tools for any application. The compact head permits the implementation of four tools with move adjustment in the planes x and y. The individual head permits the incorporation of three tools with independent movement adjustment in the axes X and Y.
We design components adaptable to extrusion tools following the nature and characteristics of the materials. The module can be adapted to the features of the material to extrude.
The height of the material output can be adjusted due to the implementation of automated calibration in the axes x, y and z, and the independent movement system in the axis z of the heads.
We introduced BIO V1 technology to optimise the bioprinting process. We configured our equipment to use FDM, IVF and IPF technologies.
This technology models the scaffold to create complex external structures and a meshed internal structure. In this additive manufacturing process, the extruder’s hot surface melts a thermoplastic material and gradually deposits each layer.
IPF technology allows us to select specific layers and inject cells into selected pores. It also enables us to inject controlled quantities, which can vary from layer to layer.
IVF technology injects bioink throughout the entire manufactured volume, ensuring that all scaffold layers are filled after printing. This technology enhances and guarantees cellular viability and survival under extreme conditions, such as those encountered when working with high-temperature thermoplastics.
By developing our own software and hardware, we designed customised equipment that adapts to each project’s specific requirements.
Our intuitive software allows users to design individual structures or import geometries from .stl files. After designing or importing the structure, users can preview the piece and configure the internal mesh along with a wide range of printing parameters.
The BIO V1 adapts to and can be customised for the needs of each investigation.
The display of the BIO V1 bioprinter and the system head presents the technical characteristics of the equipment.
