The SMP10 Digital Melting Point Apparatus is a precision instrument featuring a 1°C resolution, making it particularly suitable for quality control applications. It allows for the simultaneous testing of two samples, which can be observed through a magnifying lens with the assistance of integrated illumination for enhanced clarity.
Extendable back feet enable the apparatus to be positioned at an optimal viewing angle. Additionally, the design provides full access to the block, facilitating easy cleaning. User-friendly instructions are conveniently printed on the device in English and several European languages, ensuring straightforward operation.
Select the desired plateau temperature using the three-digit display and press ‘start’. The system then reaches the chosen plateau temperature and maintains it until the user initiates the test.
After inserting the sample tubes, pressing ‘start’ prompts the unit to heat gradually, allowing for the observation of the melting process. Once the sample is observed to melt, the temperature displayed should be recorded.
Press ‘stop’ to conclude the heating process and allow the block to cool.
