Thermal Imaging Solutions from Link Gulf.
Infrared thermography (IRT), or thermal imaging, employs thermal cameras to capture images based on infrared radiation emitted by objects, specifically within the long-infrared spectrum of 9,000 to 14,000 nanometers. This technology produces thermograms that effectively visualize temperature differences, allowing for the identification of warmer objects against cooler backgrounds.
IRT has significant applications in military surveillance and has seen substantial growth in commercial and industrial sectors over the last fifty years. Notable uses include aiding firefighters in navigating through smoke, enabling maintenance technicians to detect overheating components in power lines, and assisting construction professionals in identifying heat loss due to poor insulation.
Link Gulf provides a range of Thermal Imaging Solutions for a host of industry applications.
Recent technological advancements have led to the development of affordable, uncooled microbolometers, although these devices generally provide a lower resolution than optical cameras. Typical resolutions range from 160×120 to 320×240 pixels, however some high-end models achieve up to 1280×1024 pixels. Despite their utility, thermal imaging cameras tend to be more expensive than visible spectrum cameras, and many high-end models are subject to export restrictions due to their military applications.
